What is Micro-channeling?

It is a collagen induction therapy treatment. It will refine the texture of the skin, along with remodeling the collagen and elastin fibers.

PRE CARE:​

  • Avoid accutane for at least 6 months.
  • DO NOT use topical agents that will increase sensitivity like Retinoids, Antibiotics, Acids, Hydroquinone and Acne Products.​
  • DO NOT take any Anti Inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen, Motrin or Advil 3 Days Prior to Treatment. They will interfere with the natural inflammatory response that is critical for your skin rejuvenation.
  • Avoid Sunburns/Suntans, Tanning Beds or Laser Procedures for 2 weeks prior.
  • NO WAXING, Depilatory creams or Electrolysis 5-7 Days prior.
  • NO SHAVING the day of procedure to avoid irritation.
  • Bruising is a common risk. Avoid blood Thinning Agents (Aspirin, Fish Oils, Vitamin E) for one week prior.

POST CARE:

DAY 1-3:

  • A sunburn-like effect is normal. The skin will feel tight and dry, and sensitive to the touch. Treat your skin gently washing with a gentle cleanser, cool water, and using hands only and Pat Dry. Some small bruising or swelling is common and may last 5-7 days.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise that will cause sweating, Jacuzzi, Sauna or Steam baths for 24 hours.
  • Have clean pillow cases and makeup brushes available.

DAY 2-7 : 

  • Peeling may start 3-5 days after treatment. You will notice dryness and flaking. This is due to increased cell turnover. DO NOT pick, scratch or exfoliate.

DAY 5-7:

  • You may restart your regular skin care products and retina when you are no longer irritated.

Contraindications to Micro-channeling include:

Pregnancy, Actively Inflamed Skin, Skin Irritation, Cystic Acne, Keloid Scars, Sunburns, Active Herpes in the Treatment area, Warts, and Inflammatory Rosacea.
